Russia showed off its new machine gun to the world. It was demonstrated for the first time at the fifth international defense industry exhibition ADEX-2024. Its name is RPL-20. Here, bullets are conveyed via a belt. This is a light machine gun. This means LMG – light machine gun.
The pill strip comes in a box. The machine gun featured a belt feed from the bottom. This means that different types of mounts can be installed on the top Picatinny rail. This means telescope. Aiming devices such as telescopes, infrared or thermal mounts. The machine gun can be opened without removing these devices.

The first prototype of this machine gun was launched in August 2020. The weight of the machine gun is 5.2 to 5.5 kg. Length 42.7 to 45.1 inches. Its barrel length is 23.2 inches, which means it can hit targets at a long distance. It uses 5.45×39mm bullets. It can fire 600 rounds of ammunition in one minute.

All preliminary tests of the machine gun have been completed. The remaining testing will be completed by the end of this year. Thereafter, the Russian military may use it in the war in Ukraine. However, no official statement has been made on this yet.
