2024-09-24 19:26:08 : WhatsApp for Android is currently testing a feature that allows users to mark all chats as read at once. In recent months, the feature was said to be in development, but still unavailable to beta testers. However, the messaging platform’s latest beta update for Android changes everything and makes it available to multiple beta testers. This is the latest beta feature to be rolled out to testers on the platform, and it also comes with the ability to block messages from unknown accounts, while other theme improvements are still in development.

WhatsApp starts testing ‘Read All’ feature

The feature in development, first spotted by feature tracker WABetaInfo, aims to improve the chat management experience on WhatsApp. After updating the WhatsApp beta to Android version 2.24.20.19, Gadgets 360 was able to confirm that the feature is working as expected. It allows users to clear the unread message count by marking all received messages as “read”.

this Read all Options in the overflow menu can be accessed by clicking on the three-dot menu. tapping Read all Mark all chats in the list as read without manually selecting all chats and selecting Mark as read options.

This feature is expected to be released to all users in a future update through the stable update channel. The feature is currently available to Android testers, while iOS users may have to wait a while before the feature is available.

It should be noted that while the developers tested many features in beta, not all of them made it to the public version of the app. However, the feature’s appearance on tester phones suggests the feature may be rolling out to all users in the coming months.
