Accused arrested for gang-raping a fifth-grader in Lucknow, hotel CCTV footage recovered

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a man accused of gang-raping a fifth-grade student and he is on trial. The accused have been identified as Danes and Amin, police said. In fact, two youths in a car abducted a fifth-grade student as she was returning home from school. They then took her to a hotel and gang-raped her.

A fifth-grade student was allegedly gang-raped by two teenagers, a police officer told a news agency on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Danes and Amin. Police said the incident took place in Sarojini Nagar area when the 14-year-old girl was returning home from school.

The accused ran away, leaving the girl near the house

During this time, the accused tried to snatch the girl’s bag. When she protested, the accused forced her into the car and took her to a hotel in Krishna Nagar area. Then they gang-raped her. Police said they later dumped the girl near her home and ran away.

This is what the ACP said in this matter

Assistant Commissioner of Police Krishna Nagar Vinay Kumar Dwivedi said that based on the complaint of the victim, an FIR has been registered and investigation is on. Meanwhile, a defendant has been arrested and is being questioned. In this case, CCTV footage from the hotel has been uncovered and is being investigated thoroughly. SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said strict action will be taken against the culprits of the incident.
