Currently, Google’s artificial intelligence (AI)-powered visual finder stops working once a message bubble appears on the screen. However, this feature may change soon. Google is reportedly expanding its Circle to Search feature to more devices, ending its exclusivity on Samsung and Google phones.

Android Authority reports that Google’s AI-powered “Circle to Search” feature may soon work even if message bubbles appear in floating windows. Currently, the Visual Finder overlay does not appear on the screen if a chat bubble is opened. Invoke Cycle Search by long-pressing the home button or the navigation bar—these are inaccessible while the message bubble is open.
After digging into the source code of Android 15, the publication found references to activating Circle to Search when a message bubble is opened. The feature allows users to highlight an area by circling it on the screen and enabling its visual lookup on the web. It supports doodling, circling, or drawing on objects and text on the screen.
The publication was able to activate this feature and even hinted that the Mountain View-based tech giant might roll it out soon once original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) release Android 15 for their respective phones.
Circle to Search is expected to come to other smartphones
A recent report suggests that Google’s Circle to Search feature may soon be coming to more Android smartphones. The Xiaomi Mi 14T series is speculated to be one of the first phones besides Google and Samsung to get this feature. The film will be released in Berlin on September 26.
According to reports, the AI-driven feature is also expected to be launched on the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2, which debuted alongside the Phantom V Flip 2 on Friday.
