Mohan talks about Tirupati case
Mohan, popular for films like “Draupadi”, “Rudratandavam” and “Bakasuran”, was arrested by the cyber crime branch of Trichy police station on Tuesday. Mohan was being interviewed by a YouTube channel to discuss the adulteration of ghee used in making ladoos at the Tirupati Balaji temple.

In this regard, he said that such incidents have also occurred in Tamil Nadu. Further elaborating on his point, Mohan spoke about the mixing of medicines in the Prasad ‘Panchamritam’ of the Palani temple. Mohan was reportedly arrested for making derogatory remarks about Panchamritam.

What did Mohan say?
“I heard that Panchamritam was mixed with drugs that cause impotence in men,” Mohan said in an interview on a YouTube channel. The news was hidden and Panchamritam was destroyed. You can’t say anything without evidence, but no clear explanation was given for this. The staff there told me that birth control pills are an attack on Hindus.

Politics also begins with Mohan’s case
Shekhar Babu, minister for Hindu religious and charitable arrangements in the Tamil Nadu government, has warned of strict action against those spreading fake news about the Palani temple Panchamritham.

Chennai BJP president Ashwathman Allimuthu posted on social media platform X condemning the arrest of Mohan. In his post, he claimed that the Tamil director was arrested without any prior notification.

Alimutu also said Mohan’s family had not been provided with information on the reasons for his arrest, the basis for his arrest or where he was arrested and held. Allimuthu in his post claimed that Chief Minister MK DMK was running under the leadership of Stalin. Unlawful arrests of government critics are increasing rapidly.

Mohan started his directorial career with the 2016 film Palaya Vannarapettai. In 2020, the movie “Draupadi” directed by him became a hit and gained him recognition.
