Srinagar, September 24: Two persons, including an Indian Reserve Police (IRP) man, were killed when a vehicle carrying polling staff met with an accident in the Tuksan Jabbara Morh area of ​​Mahoor sub-division of Reasi district in J&K. An electoral district judge was also injured, officials said Tuesday.

“At around 1500 hours today, an election duty vehicle with registration number 1500 emerged. JK11A 3907 fell 100 meters from a ravine stream in Tukson Jabara Morh under Mahore police station. Two persons died on the spot and one was injured, an official statement said.

An official statement identified the deceased as Ct. Ajaz Khan (Blet No. 827/ARP 188538 D-Coy of 19 BN) and driver Javed Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Khour.

The official identified the injured as electoral district judge Ajay Kumar. Reports say Kumar is in stable condition.

Sources said officials were on patrol reviewing the electoral process when the incident occurred.
