Delhi Police arrested a boy named Karan for installing spy cameras in light bulb holders in the bedrooms and bathrooms of student tenants. According to police, the victim student was preparing for UPSC and lived alone in a rented apartment. Whenever she returns home on vacation, she hands over the keys to her apartment to the landlord’s son, Karan. About three months ago, Karan saw the opportunity and installed two cameras in light bulb holders in the victim’s apartment.

Feeling suspicious when checking WhatsApp on mobile phone

According to East Delhi DCP Apoorva Gupta, not long ago, a woman saw a spy camera on a light bulb holder in the bathroom of her apartment and called the police. In fact, the student first became suspicious when she checked her WhatsApp, from where she learned that her account was open on a different laptop. He then searched the house and found a spy camera in a light bulb holder in the bathroom.

Spy cameras found in bathrooms and bedrooms

When police arrived at the apartment to investigate, they discovered that in addition to the bathroom, a spy camera had been installed in a light bulb holder in the bedroom. When the police asked the student who else had access to the house besides her, the student told her that whenever she went out, she would give the keys to the apartment to the landlord’s son, Karan, because she trusted Karan.

Later, when Delhi police interrogated and investigated Karan, they discovered a spy camera owned by him and two laptops where he had stored the recorded videos. In fact, the spy camera Karan installed in the student’s house was not connected to the remote control or the network, so Karan would try to get the keys to the apartment from the girl under some pretext so that he could transfer the data present in the chip.

After getting all the evidence against Karan, Delhi Police registered an FIR and arrested Karan. According to police, he is disabled. Karan had also been preparing for UPSC for the past seven years but failed. Delhi Police has advised schoolgirls and women living alone in rented apartments in Delhi to be cautious and vigilant and not to be overly trusting of strangers or anyone.
