The Uttar Pradesh government can make a big announcement for its employees (Uttar Pradesh government employees) before Diwali. The dearness allowance (DA) of 15 lakh employees and 8 lakh pensioners can be increased by 4% before Diwali. At the same time, the state government can also announce bonuses for non-gazetted employees. However, the subsidy increase will not be announced until the central government increases it.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced an increase in dearness allowance and around 15 lakh government employees in the state are expected to benefit. The decision is expected to impose an additional burden of Rs 3,000 crore on the state exchequer. In addition, non-gazetted employees are expected to receive bonuses, which will be determined based on their basic salary and DA. Last year, a bonus of around Rs 7,000 was given to employees. It is estimated that the bonus will be slightly increased this time.
The eighth commission payment
In February 2014, the 7th Pay Commission was constituted for government employees so that people can get salary hike as per inflation. The recommendations made after the committee was established will be implemented from January 1, 2016. The remuneration commission is levied every ten years and implemented so that people can get the benefits. In this context, the central government is expected to implement the 8th Pay Commission soon.
How much will wages increase?
The eighth remuneration committee is expected to be established in 2026 after the government officially announces it. If the 8th salary commission is implemented, then as per the projections, the possible salary increase will be between 20% and 35%, so the pay for grade 1 can increase to about Rs 34,560 and for grade 18 to Rs 4.8 lakh.
When will the central employee wage subsidy be increased?
It is worth noting that as of now, the central employee living allowance has not been increased in July. But reports suggest an announcement could be made next month. The central employee wage subsidy can be increased by 3% to 4%. There is also news that employees’ basic salaries may also increase.
