Mohammad Zahid was killed by police and STF in a clash in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur earlier today. Mohammad Zahid has offered a reward of Rs 100,000. The police searched for him for a long time. But it didn’t work out. On the evening of August 19, Mohammad Zahid was on the run following the murder of two Rwandan Patriotic Front soldiers.
Zahid, who was killed in the clash, had several cases of kidnapping, assault and liquor smuggling registered against him. He is originally from Bihar. Zahid has also traveled to other states to commit crimes. Police seized an illegal .32 caliber pistol, two empty magazines and a bag of illegal country liquor from him.
Let us tell you that on the night of August 19-20, two Rwandan Patriotic Front police officers, Javed Khan and Pramod, tried to stop illegal liquor on board the Barmer-Guwahati Express train No. 15631 smuggling. During this time, the smugglers beat them and threw them from the moving train. Two police officers were killed in the incident. Mohammad Zahid was charged in the incident.
In the murder case of RPF soldiers, the accused Premchand Verma, Vinay, Pankaj, Balendra, Ravi Kumar, Ravi and others have been arrested. Some of them were arrested by police after the encounter. Zahid alias Sonu (son Mushtafa), a resident of Mansoor Galli in Peddhima Chowk, Bihar, was killed in the clashes today.
How did the encounter happen, police revealed?
Regarding the encounter, Ghazipur SP Dr Iraj Raja said Mohammad Zahid alias Sonu, a resident of Bihar with a reward of Rs one lakh, was accused of murdering two RPF policemen. Numerous cases of kidnapping, assault and liquor smuggling were filed against him. He was on the lam for a long time. Meanwhile, information was received from the informant about his presence in Ghazipur. Following this, a joint team of UP STF Noida unit, GRP Dildarnagar and Ghazipur police conducted a search operation around 1 pm on Monday night.
Then at night near Gopalpur, Mohammad Zahid alias Sonu and his companions were seen coming on their bikes. When the team surrounded him, he fired at the police officer with the intention of killing him. Police officers were wounded by bullets. Afterwards, in retaliation, Zahid was shot in the chest.
The injured criminal Mohammad Zahid was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment where doctors declared him brought dead. However, during the encounter, another criminal beside Zahid escaped under the cover of night.
