Old Woman Murder: There was a stir when the blood-stained body of an old woman was found in Uttar Pradesh’s Badoshi district. The woman’s body was recovered from her home. Police found a kitchen knife near the body at the crime scene. The family of the deceased has not filed any formal complaint in this case.
The murder took place in Birapur village in Badoshi district. Giving information on the matter, police told PTI that the body of a 65-year-old woman was found at her house on Monday morning. The woman was killed by slitting her throat and a kitchen knife was placed nearby.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajay Kumar Chauhan said a police team has started investigating the matter. According to police, the body of an old woman, Girija Devi, was lying on the bed. She was sleeping on the balcony of the house.
DSP Ajay Kumar Chauhan further said that the body of Girija Devi was first seen by her daughter-in-law Preeti. Seeing this scene, the ground beneath his feet slipped. He immediately informed his family and called the police. However, the family of Girija Devi, who lives in Birapur village in Durgaganj district, is yet to file any formal complaint.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ajay Kumar Chauhan said a forensic team has been called in to investigate the incident. During the investigation, a blood-stained kitchen knife was recovered from the scene.
According to police, Girija Devi has four sons and two daughters. Police said Devi lived with her son Rajat Gautam and his wife Preeti. His other son Nitin Gautam lives nearby. His other two sons, Ajay and Vijay, live in Mumbai. His body has been sent for post-mortem. The police have not yet found any clues about the cause of the murder or the murderer.
