Assembly elections are coming up in Haryana. Earlier, Aaj Tak organized the ‘Panchayat Aaj Tak’ programme. Famous bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal participated in the event. He talked about Sanatana Dharma, Rama temple and politics. The singer also reacted to the controversy surrounding his famous song “Jo Ram Ko Laaye Hain Unko Laayenge, UP Me Phir Se Bhagwa Laharayenge”.

What is this popular song about?
In 2022, Kanhaiya’s song “Jo Ram Ko Laaye Hain Unko Laayenge” became very famous. While the song has been praised, there has been just as much controversy. On this whole thing, Kanhaiya said – I sang this song for CM Yogi Adityanath, not for any party. I did not produce this song for the BJP. I have not taken any money from the BJP. I said hello and built a Rama temple. What else should be done? The country’s prime minister is still working even at the age of 75. Those who say bad things about them should be ashamed.

I didn’t expect this song to be so famous. I used to sing in North India. But when I see people’s awareness, people often tell me to cry and say you gave Sanatan strength. Some say they spread hatred. This is wrong. Foreigners talk openly about their religion. My beliefs are not tied to any political party. Sanatani is a person who does not consider anyone as inferior and all religions are equal. Whenever someone tries to make us smaller, if you open the pages of history, you will know who is bigger.

Denied entry into politics
Kanhaiya Mittal has now refused to enter politics. He said – I will not enter politics in the future, but if I come, the future will be decided. It is understood that Singh has recently expressed his desire to join the Congress. But when saints and statesmen explained to him, his decision was wrong. Kanhaiya changed his decision when senior BJP leaders intervened. He was not in the mood to attend any parties at the moment. Singh said he worked only for Sanatan Dharma and Ram. Any political party that supports Ram will sing his praises, whether it is the Congress or the Bharatiya Janata Party.
