Nitish Kumar handed over big responsibilities in the party to former minister Shyam Rajak, who recently resigned from the RJD and rejoined the JDU. He was appointed as the national secretary of JDU. However, in the RJD, he also held the post of national general secretary. Shyam Rajak left JDU before the 2020 elections and joined the RJD.

Last month, on August 22, Shyam Rajak surprised everyone by once again resigning as RJD national general secretary. However, speculation has emerged about his resignation from the party. When he resigned, he wrote to RJD supremo Lalu Yadav saying: I don’t like chess and therefore I have been cheated, you are playing with chess pieces and I am playing with kinship.

Let us tell you, this is not the first time that Shyam Rajak has moved from here to there. He has changed his position twice. He first became MLA in 1995 from Phulwari Sharif seat. He was considered close to Lalu Yadav at the time. Shyam Rajak was also a minister in the Rabri Devi government.

After Nitish Kumar became chief minister in 2005, he became disillusioned with the RJD. Then in 2009, a year before the 2010 elections, he resigned from the RJD and joined Nitish Kumar. He has since stayed with JDU until just before the 2020 assembly elections. During this period, Nitish Kumar also gave him a place in the cabinet.

Just before the 2020 assembly elections in Bihar, Shyam Rajak resigned from JDU and joined the RJD. When he arrived at the old house, he received a warm welcome. Now he has left Lalu Yadav again.
