The main accused in a robbery case that took place in Kannauj three months ago was arrested by the police after an encounter. The offender was shot in the leg during the encounter. He has since been arrested. Police conducted the encounter on Sunday night. A senior police officer provided this information to news organizations.
Kannauj SP Amit Kumar said Chappad Rajan Pardi was arrested during an encounter on Sunday night. Information was received about Pardi that he was near Panwara, Jalalpur. When the police team reached there after getting the information, they started firing rapidly. In response to this incident, the police also took retaliatory actions.
In retaliation, Pardi was shot in the leg. Thereafter, the police caught him. Police have recovered a country-made pistol, bullets and Rs 15,000 in cash from his possession. Pardi was the main Aroli in the June 29 robbery in Makarand Nagar. Currently, seven people involved in the case have been arrested.
The SP told that Paddy and his accomplices had kidnapped a businessman. They took him hostage and took his pistol. In addition, 400,000 rupees in cash and gold ornaments were also robbed from him. Pardi has been taken to the hospital.
