Two partnerships make Bangladesh’s game a success

The second and final match of the Test series will be played on September 27 at Kanpur Green Park. The duo’s partnership played a major role in India’s stunning victory in the Chennai Test match. The first century partnership was between Ashwin-Jadeja. Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill also have a century-long partnership.

In the match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first. This decision by Bangladesh looked right for a time as in the first innings, India lost 6 wickets for 144 runs. However, the great partnership of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja thereafter lifted India out of the crisis. Ashwin and Jadeja shared a 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket. On the basis of this partnership, the Indian team scored 376 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin scored an innings of 113 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored an innings of 86 runs. Ashwin faced 133 balls and hit 2 sixes besides 11 fours. Jadeja, on the other hand, hit 10 fours and two sixes in 124 innings.

Thereafter, the Indian bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah (4 wickets), performed brilliantly and defeated Bangladesh by 149 runs in the first innings. This means that India has taken the lead with a lead of 227 runs in the first innings. From here, India decided to bat rather than follow Bangladesh. However, India got off to a poor start in the second innings and scored 67 runs for 3 wickets.

From here on, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill created such a ruckus that the visiting team kept watching. Pant and Shubman collaborated to score 167 runs for the fourth wicket. This partnership completely dashed Bangladesh’s hopes. Rishabh Pant faced 128 balls and scored 109 runs, including 13 fours and 4 sixes. This was the sixth century of his Test career. Soon after Pant was dismissed, Shubman Gill also completed his century. Shubman remained unbeaten after scoring 119 runs. Shubman hit 10 fours and four sixes in the innings.

Bangladesh batsmen couldn’t do anything special while chasing a mountain-like target. Only captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto played bravely. Nazmul scored 82 runs off 127 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes. R stands for Team India. Ashwin scored 88 runs and took 6 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja, on the other hand, had three successes.
