An 11-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl drowned while bathing in a canal connected to the Ghagra River in Balaichi, Uttar Pradesh. Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene, seized the two bodies and sent them for autopsy. The police said they are taking action in the matter.

The incident took place in the Motipur police station area of ​​Balaichi district. Speaking to a news agency, police said that 11-year-old Dharmendra and his 10-year-old cousin Rinki had come to their grandmother’s house in Mangoudhiya village and drowned while taking a bath in the canal connected to the Ghaghra river on Sunday afternoon. Both were drowned by the strong current and their bodies were found floating on the water after a while.

This is what the police said on the matter

Sub-Inspector (SI) Dinesh Singh said that 11-year-old Dharmendra, a resident of Lakhimpur district, came to his grandmother’s house in Mangoudhiya village. He and his 10-year-old cousin Rinki went to take a bath in the canal connected to the Ghaghra river. During the process, the two drowned due to the strong current and their bodies were found floating on the water soon after. With the help of divers, the bodies have been fished out and sent for postmortem. Further action is being taken in the matter.
