NSUI Candidates List for DUSU Election 2024: The bugle call for the 2024 DUSU elections has been sounded. Student organizations like ABVP, NSUI, SFI are excited about the polls to be held on September 27. The preparations of student organizations are going on in full swing. With the announcement of the results of the DUSU elections on September 28, Delhi University will have a new group of student leaders. Last time, ABVP won the posts of president, secretary and joint secretary. The post of vice president was held by NSUI.
ABVP appointed Rishabh Chaudhary as President, Bhanu Pratap Singh as Vice President, Mitravinda Karnawal as Secretary and Aman Kapasia as Joint Secretary. NSUI took a gamble and gave the post of President to Raunak Khatri, the post of Vice President to Yash Nandal, the post of Secretary to Namrata Jeff and the post of Secretary to Lokesh Chaudhary. DUSU elections are interesting and the stories of the candidates are equally interesting. Here we introduce the candidates who are representing NSUI in the DUSU elections.
Chairman: Raunak Khatri
22-year-old Raunak has been nominated as the presidential candidate by NSUI. They are mainly residents of Narwana in Delhi. In 2019, he was admitted to DU. Raunak Khatri is a law student of Delhi University. He is known as the “Matka Man of DU”. Because of the hot summer, he himself worked as a pot guard in the college. However, he also took the court over the water problem on campus. Later, the issue was resolved.
Vice President: Yash Nandal
NSUI has fielded Yash Nandal in the election for the post of Vice President. The 23-year-old Yash is a resident of Bohar village in Rohtak district of Haryana. He is a national-level cricket player. In 2019, he was admitted to Satyavati College, Delhi University. His father is a businessman and his mother is a housewife. After joining NSUI in 2019, Yash’s vision was to implement period leave for girl students, which was also the manifesto of the organization.
Secretary position: Namrata Jeff (Meena)
Namrata is a resident of Sikar, Rajasthan, and is just 19 years old. She is currently studying political science at Kirodimal College. Namrata was the first girl in her family to contest for the post of general secretary in last year’s KMC Student Union elections and won by a huge margin. He was admitted to DU in 2022. His father is an ordinary farmer and his mother is a housewife. Just a few days ago, he became a member of NSUI.
Joint Secretary: Lokesh Chaudhry
Lokesh is a resident of Hisar in Haryana. Lokesh belongs to a family of normal economic status and his father is a professor. Mainly from an agricultural tradition. 24-year-old Lokesh is a Buddhist student. In 2018, he got admission in DU. He had previously worked in CYSS (Students Yuva Sangharsh Samiti). As soon as he joined NSUI, he was nominated as a candidate for the post of Joint Secretary.
