He stressed that the contribution of the people of Purvanchal in the freedom struggle should also be showcased in the museum so that the new generation can get to know their history and culture.

The Uttar Pradesh government confirmed that public representatives, senior government officials and district administration officials were present at the inspection.

According to a government statement, the Tourism Department is constructing the Gaurav Museum on 1.6 acres of land at a cost of around Rs 21 crore. The aim is to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

The statement also said the museum will have an auditorium with a capacity of 250 people, a souvenir shop, workshops, an audio-visual room and a cafeteria.

The Chief Minister also stressed on the importance of showcasing the cultural heritage of Gorakhpur and Purvanchal through the museum. He said the museum will not only be a collection of historical information but will also serve as an educational and tourism centre which will also promote the development of the region.

This observation by Adityanath shows that the state government is serious about improving the cultural and tourism sectors and is taking concrete steps in this direction.
