The body of a businessman who was staying in a hotel with his girlfriend was found in Krishna Nagar area of ​​Lucknow, while the girlfriend fled the spot. The businessman’s family has accused the woman of blackmailing and murdering him for lakhs of rupees. The police have detained the absconding girlfriend from Unnao and started questioning. The case is allegedly about extortion through physical relations.

Santosh Singh lived in Aldico Defence Block area in PGI police station area in Lucknow and worked as a supply of construction materials. Santosh Singh had a shop in Bijnor area. It is learnt that around 3 pm on Friday, Santosh Singh checked into Hotel Sonam Inn in Krishna Nagar along with Manju Singh, a resident of Unnao. Manju Singh left the hotel at 10.40 am. At 11.30 am, when the hotel manager went to the room to check out, Santosh Singh’s body was found lying on the floor.

Family blames girlfriend

The hotel manager informed the police about the incident. Santosh Singh has wife Krishna and two daughters and a son. After receiving the information, wife Krishna filed a police complaint, claiming that girlfriend Manju and her family extorted lakhs of rupees from her husband Santosh Singh by blackmailing him. The wife claimed that her girlfriend Manju committed the murder so that she would not have to return the money taken from her husband.

Police checking CCTV

At present, the police have detained Manju, who fled the scene, and started questioning. The hotel’s CCTV footage, arrival and departure time, call details are being examined. DCP South Keshav Kumar said that the police are investigating all aspects. The allegations are under investigation. Action will be taken based on the evidence.
