In Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, a parent has accused the NCERT manual on environment of being love jihad and has filed a written complaint with the Chhatarpur police, demanding action. The objection was raised by a person named Dr. Raghav Pathak. Raghav Pathak claimed that he had an objection to page 17 of the NCERT Class 3 environmental subject. In this page, there is a title “Chitthi Aayi Hai” in which a girl named Reena invites Ahmed to come to Agartala during the holidays and at the end she writes: “Your Reena”.

In fact, the complainant Raghav Pathak has filed a written complaint with the Khajuraho SDOP, raising objections. Dr. Raghav Pathak said there is NCERT book on environment for class 3, I will check my child’s syllabus. My daughter is studying Hindi in class 3, so there is chapter 17 in the NCERT book on environment. In the chapter titled “A letter has come”, a friend named Reena has written a letter to a friend named Ahmed.

‘Hindu girl writes letter to Muslim friend’

I object to this. In the background of this objection, the issue of “love jihad” is happening now, so what kind of impact is it creating in the hearts of our innocent children? I also wonder if this course is part of some well-planned conspiracy where a Hindu girl is writing letters to a Muslim friend. I object to this, that’s why I have come here to submit a memorandum. Deepti can write a letter to Reena. Reena can write a letter to Ram, but I object to Reena writing a letter to Ahmed. This should be investigated. An application has been filed with the SDOP in this matter.

SDPO said in this matter:

Khajuraho SDOP Salil Sharma said the applicant Raghav Pathak had submitted an application. He said there was some material in NCERT which he considered objectionable. He filed an application in this regard. I have explained to them that the state government or local bodies have nothing to do with the matter. They should present it in the proper forum. Thereafter, the applicant was sent to the senior office.
