The Election Commission has stepped up its preparations for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. To take the election process forward, the Commission will visit both the states next week. If sources are to be believed, the Election Commission team will first visit Jharkhand and then go to Maharashtra.

According to sources in the commission, the Chief Election Commissioner, his two fellow commissioners and other senior officials will visit Jharkhand on September 23 and 24. Immediately after visiting Jharkhand, the commission will visit Maharashtra on September 27 and 28.

Sources also said that the voting schedule for the two states is likely to be decided in the second or third week of November. According to sources in the Election Commission, the election plan is likely to be announced within a week after Dussehra.

Let us tell you that the term of Maharashtra Assembly will end on November 26, while the term of Jharkhand Assembly will continue till January 5 next year.
