Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi was sworn in as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. Saxena administered the oath of office and secrecy to Atish, who is now the third woman Chief Minister of Delhi after Congress’ Sheila Dikshit and BJP’s Sushma Swaraj. Saurabh Bhardwaj was the first to take oath in the meeting of new ministers, followed by Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and new member of the Delhi Cabinet Mukesh Ahlawat.

However, Aatish’s tenure will be short as the assembly elections will be held in the national capital in February. In this scenario, Aatish faces many challenges like continuing all the schemes implemented by the previous Kejriwal government. Along with this, people are also asking questions like: Can the BJP benefit from this change in the Delhi elections next year? When will the BJP be able to defeat Kejriwal in Delhi? Political expert Sangeet Ragi gave this answer in a special conversation with Aaj Tak.

Sanjit Raj said the problem with the Delhi BJP is that after Madharam Lal Khurrana, there is no such leader who can challenge Arvind Kejriwal or Sheila Dikshit at the grassroots level. Unless the Delhi BJP leadership takes to the streets and communities and fights for the common man, you cannot defeat Arvind Kejriwal. If you fight only through press conferences or protests, it will not work.

He said Arvind Kejriwal is a man who does politics 24 hours a day. Just as you cannot fight Narendra Modi because both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are in governance and politics mode 24 hours a day. Similarly, Arvind Kejriwal’s team is also in politics mode 24 hours a day. If you (BJP) have to defeat them, your cadres will need to be on the streets. If you lose the ability to be on the streets, then you cannot fight Arvind Kejriwal. Setting the narrative is also included in it. Arvind Kejriwal has created a new narrative which the opposition cannot fight back.
