According to information, the accused has been identified as 35-year-old Kamlesh Tiwari. Kamlesh is accused of reaching the woman’s house on Friday night and raping her. During the incident, when the woman protested, he hit her with a brick. The accused also attacked the woman’s 9-year-old granddaughter. The girl was seriously injured.

Police investigation revealed that Kamlesh lived near the woman’s house. He was seen walking towards the woman’s house. He fled the village thereafter. When the police searched the accused’s house, they found blood stains in it, confirming the police’s suspicions.

On Friday evening, a police team started searching for the accused and received information that he was present near Domanpur village. When the police tried to arrest him, he opened fire on the police. Kamlesh was injured in the police retaliation. The police arrested him. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

According to police, Kamlesh crushed a 55-year-old woman to death with a brick in Purvamir village on Friday night. The 9-year-old granddaughter who was sleeping near the woman was also attacked and killed. The body of the woman was found on the balcony of the house, while her granddaughter fell to the ground with injuries. Police rushed the girl to the hospital.

Kanpur Joint Police Commissioner Harish Chandra said the accused revealed during interrogation that he had gone to the woman’s house at night and tried to rape her, but when the woman protested, he killed her. Based on the girl’s identity and evidence, Kamlesh was arrested.
