Amazon on Thursday launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) video maker tool that can create ads. The e-commerce giant said the new video tool will enable advertisers to generate “information-rich” videos that include product selling points and features. The company claims that videos can create ads with just a product image. In addition, Amazon has introduced a new live image feature to the existing image maker. Both tools are available for testing by some US advertisers.

Amazon Advertising has launched a new AI tool. In a Newsroom post, the company claims that the Ad Video Generator can create “video ads that are entertaining and relevant to customers.” The e-commerce giant also claims that the AI ​​model can generate “visually rich” video content from a single product image. These videos can also be tweaked to include the product’s unique selling points (USPs) and features.

Additionally, the company released a new live image feature in its AI Image Generator for enterprise customers. The new feature allows users to use AI to generate short animated promotional images. These images may be similar to the pop-up looping GIFs that appear as ads on various web pages. Both tools are currently in beta. Amazon demonstrated the live image feature but did not reveal any details about the video tool.

Meanwhile, an Amazon spokesperson reportedly told TechCrunch that the AI ​​video generator specifically for advertising can create videos that are six to nine seconds long, with a resolution of 720p and 24 frames per second (fps). The videos are said to take up to five minutes to produce, with each iteration generating four variations for users to choose from.

However, it is not clear whether users can add natural language text prompts for specific instructions, or if there is a different way to achieve this. There is also no information about editing the generated videos.

The report also highlights that all ads generated using the AI ​​tool follow a set template. There are two scenes, each containing a title, background music, and a call to action. Moreover, the soundtrack is said to be customizable. Moreover, the top right corner of the frame reportedly displays the brand logo.
