Afghanistan also won the second match of the three-match ODI series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday in a spectacular and grand manner. With this, Afghanistan leads the ODI series 2-0 and beats South Africa for the first time in an ODI series. Now the third match on September 22 is already a formality in a way.
In this match, Afghanistan achieved the biggest run-scoring victory in ODI cricket. Batting first, Afghanistan scored a high score of 311/4 in the stipulated fifty overs.
Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gubaz scored 105 runs off 110 balls. This was Gubaz’s seventh century in ODIs. Rahmat Shah (50) and Azmatullah Umarzai played a stormy match, scoring 86 runs off 50 balls. For South Africa, Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Berger, Naqaba Peter and Aiden Markram scored one run each.
