Maha Bharani Sant Radha 2024: Pitru Paksha starts from September 17 and will end on October 2. Maha Bharani Shraddha falling Pitru Paksha will be performed today i.e. September 21. Since this Shraddha is performed during Bharani Nakshatra during Pitru Paksha, it is called Mahabharani Shraddha. The scriptures say that the results of Bharani Shraddha are similar to the Shraddha performed during Gaya Tirtha. Bharani Shraddha is performed at the beginning of Bharani Nakshatra in the afternoon of Pitripaksha. That is why Shraddha must be performed on this auspicious coincidence. Apart from this, it is believed that performing ancestral rituals on Chaturthi or Panchami Tithi along with Bharani Nakshatra is very special. This day is considered to be the most special day during Mahabharaya.

Bharani Shraddha must be performed after one year of the death of any family member. The person who performs Shraddha should first perform daily rituals and take a bath and wear clean clothes. After that, rituals like Tarpan Pind Daan are performed. After offering water mixed with Ganges water, barley, basil and honey to the ancestors, a lamp is lit in their name. On the day of Tritiya Shraddha, after giving a portion of food to cows, crows, ants, etc., it is also fed to the three Brahmins.
While giving food to these living beings, remember your ancestors and pray in your heart that they accept the food.
