Donkey demanded compensation after death… FIR filed against 65 villagers for creating riots

A case has been registered against 65 villagers who rioted after a donkey died in Bihar’s Buxar district. Police said the villagers started the riot to protest against power outage and the death of the animal. Some villagers also reported some officials of the power department to the police.

The incident took place in Kesath block of the district. In fact, a donkey died due to electrocution in Rampur village. Subsequently, the villagers held the power department responsible and raised objections to the power supply center. After the commotion during this period, the SDO of the power department has filed an FIR against 65 people in the village.

Donkey death claim

Villagers gathered outside the local power grid to demand compensation for the donkey’s death. A police officer said some villagers entered the grid and cut off power supply in the area. After the intervention of senior officials, the supply was restored about three hours later.

He said that later a senior official of the state power department filed a complaint against the villagers for disrupting the power supply and obstructing the work of government staff. SP Shubham Arya said that based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered against 65 villagers for disrupting the power supply in the area for three hours. Some villagers also filed a complaint with department officials over the issue. The case is under investigation.
