To make women economically powerful, the government has launched a new scheme. It is the Subhadra scheme, under which women will get Rs 10,000 every year. The scheme was launched on September 17, 2024, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, and is a special scheme for women in Odisha (Odisha Government Scheme). Under the scheme, Rs 10,000 will be provided every year in two installments. Let us know when the two parts are released.

This is considered to be the largest women-centric scheme in India. The Prime Minister said that over 1 crore women in Odisha will benefit from the scheme. Under Subhadra Yojana, eligible women will get financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for the next five years (2024-2029). Rs 10,000 will be provided every year to women in Odisha.

When will the installments be released?
Rs 10,000 will be distributed to women in two installments. Under the Subhadra scheme, the first installment of Rs 5,000 will be distributed on Rakhi Purnima and the second installment of Rs 5,000 will be distributed on International Women’s Day (March 8). The money will be sent directly to the women’s bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Since the launch of the scheme, funds have been deposited in the accounts of more than 10 lakh women.

Who can apply?

  • Any local woman from Odisha can apply for the scheme.
  • The woman’s name should be linked with the ration card under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or the National Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
  • To avail the benefits of the scheme, a woman’s family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
  • Only women between the ages of 21 and 60 can apply for the scheme.

What is the application process?
To apply online, one has to visit the Subhadra portal. Whereas for offline application, you have to go to any Anganwadi Centre, Service Centre, Block Office, Urban Local Body Office, Common Service Centre. Printed forms will be provided free of cost and you can fill these forms and submit them to the nearest Common Service Centre. After submitting the form, the government will check it from its database. The form has to be filled with correct information otherwise if any error is found, the form will be rejected. There is no fee for making an application under the scheme.

How to apply online?

  1. First visit the official website subhadra.odisha.gov.in. Go to.
  2. Click “Apply Now” on the home page.
  3. Fill out all the information in the form (name, email, phone number, and address).
  4. After that, upload all the required documents like Aadhaar card, birth certificate, and photograph.
  5. Fill in all the information correctly and click the “Submit” button.

What documents are required?
To apply online through the Subhadra Yojana portal, you need an Aadhar card, passport size photograph, date of birth proof, bank account details, address proof, caste proof, residence proof, mobile number and email address, and signature.
