There has been a growing controversy over laddus served as prasad at the Tirupati temple. As a result, questions have been raised about the quality, purity and sanctity of the prasad made at major temples across the country, all of which try to secure their own way. This includes the 12th Jyotirling Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, from which devotees buy about a thousand kilograms of Mahaprasad, or laddus, every day.

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has given the responsibility of supplying these laddus to two vendors. As soon as the controversy over Tirupati Prasad arose, a team of officials and employees of the Vishwanath Temple reached the vendor’s location, where the laddus were being made. The team of ‘Aaj Tak’ was also present.

During this time, in a special talk with Aaj Tak, he told the media that ever since the news of Tirupati Balaji’s Prasad came out, Kashi Vishwanath Temple has gone all out on the Prasad.

He told us that the Prasad offered to Baba Vishwanath ji is prepared by the temple priests themselves. Apart from this, tie-ups are also done with vendors to provide Prasad to the devotees.
