UP Bijnor police uncovered a large gang of car thieves. The gang would steal vehicles and then take them to Uttarakhand, cut the parts and sell them separately. Apart from many stolen vehicles, the police also recovered spare parts, engines, gearboxes, 40 stepper motors and 5 tonnes of scrap from them.

According to the Bijno police, all the arrested accused used to work together to chop stolen vehicles. Three of them used to run a garage in Uttarakhand while the other two used to steal vehicles and bring them there. They then worked together to dismantle the vehicles, dismantle them and sell them as scrap.

In the entire incident, SP City Sanjeev Vajpayee said that during the checking process, two youths were found driving a Honda City car. During the investigation, multiple number plates were recovered from the car. Thereafter, during the interrogation, the accused claimed that the Honda City car was stolen. The stolen car belonged to Sarfaraz, a resident of Binor Bhara, who also filed a case in Kotwali.

Arrested accused Arif and Shamim both told police that they used to steal the vehicle and give it to their friend Mohsin, who runs a garage in Rishikesh, for Rs 15-20,000. Mohsin would dismantle the stolen vehicle, divide it into parts and sell it.

After interrogation, the police raided Mohsin’s garage in Uttarakhand along with the two car thieves. During the search, a Honda City car stolen from Bijnor was found in the garage with a damaged body. In addition, the engine of a WagonR car was also found with only half of the number written on it.

Meanwhile, about 40 Stepneys, one Centro car (in working condition), gearboxes of 13 cars and engines of 12 cars were also recovered. Meanwhile, about five tonnes of felled vehicles were recovered from the garage for scrapping. Currently, the police have also arrested two accomplices of Mohsin, Izhar and Farooq, from the garage.
