In Uttar Pradesh’s Baraichi, the fear of wolves shows no signs of abating. Villagers in Mahsi tehsil claim that they have seen a new pack of wolves in the area, which has a total of four wolves. The pack also includes the only remaining alpha wolf. This wolf is also known as ‘Lame Sadar’. According to the forest department, five of the six wolves have been captured so far, while the remaining man-eating wolf is limping. Efforts are being made to catch him. But now, panic is spreading in the area after villagers claim that they have seen a new pack of wolves.

According to villagers, a new pack of wolves was spotted near a farmhouse in Mangala village in Mahsi tehsil. The place where the wolves were spotted is just 5 km away from Sisaiya Chudamani village, which is most sensitive to the threat of wolves.

However, DFO Ajit Pratap Singh said that it can be confirmed that they are man-eating wolves only after investigation. The DFO said that there is an old den there and pug marks of wolves were also found, but judging by the activities, it seems that the man-eating ‘Lame Sardar’ will not be with them. If the lame wolf is included in the group and captured, other wolves may also become man-eating as they have a tendency to take revenge, then the situation may get worse.

DFO is concerned that even if the wolves don’t eat humans, if efforts are made to capture them, they may attack humans in retaliation, creating new problems.

It is worth noting that a man-eating wolf has created terror in Balechi. So far, they have caused the death of 9 people and injured dozens of people. According to the forestry department, only one lame wolf is left, and the other five have been captured.
