Kathua, September 19: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today severely criticised the NCP and the Congress for promoting Pakistan agenda during the Jammu and Kashmir state elections.

According to a press release, he took strong note of the statement made by Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif on Pakistani TV in which he said that Pakistan and the NC-Congress alliance were on the same page regarding restoration of Article 370 and Article 35(A). Chugh, who is also the party leader for Jammu and Kashmir, said that this completely exposed the intentions of the NC and the Congress to pursue the Pakistan agenda.

“This not only shows Pakistan’s intention to interfere in the Jammu and Kashmir elections, but also confirms that the Abdullah family of the Nationalist Congress and the Gandhi family of the Congress have been following the instructions of the Pakistani army to create chaos and unrest in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Chug demanded an explanation from the Abdullah and Gandhi families to clarify their relationship with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and said the anti-national alliance had been following the orders of the Pakistani army and fooling the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which was a reprehensible act.

“The Abdullahs have also made it clear in the past that they would rather follow the agenda set by Pakistan’s ISI and deprive Jammu and Kashmir of the development and progress it deserves. The primary agenda of the Abdullahs and the Gandhis is to keep Jammu and Kashmir boiling and protect their vested political interests at the cost of the interests of the common people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Chug said the BJP strongly opposed the dangerous alliance formed by the Pakistan Army with the Nepali Congress Party and the Congress and warned the people of Jammu and Kashmir not to fall into such anti-national trap when voting begins for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
