There will be no water supply in some parts of the capital Delhi for 12 hours tomorrow (September 20). The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said that some parts of the capital will be without water for 12 hours on Friday due to maintenance.
According to a statement released by the Delhi Jal Board, the affected areas include Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Pahar Ganj, Old and New Rajendra Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indrapuri, parts of Army Cantonment area and areas around NDMC and South Delhi are included.
The statement said that due to maintenance of the 500 mm diameter riser main from Chandrawal Water Plant in the Dr Ambedkar National Memorial, Civil Lines, the drinking water supply from Chandrawal Water Plant will be stopped from 11 am to 12 noon on September 20. The Chandrawal Water Plant will remain closed for a few hours.
Due to the maintenance, the water supply will be shut off and hence residents in the affected areas are advised to use water with caution. Water tankers will be available as required through the DJB helpline or the central control room, according to the statement.
