UP News: In Kanpur, a man pretended to be an inspector and cheated for months. He borrowed Rs 1.5 million from his friend’s father-in-law in the name of buying land and said, “I am a sub-inspector. I will pay you back soon.” But he did not pay back the money. Later, the victim reported the case to the police. After the police registered a case and investigated, they found that he was cheating people. In this regard, his brother-in-law and friends often described him as a police inspector.

In fact, his son-in-law Sagar told Chandrabhan Singh, a resident of Kalyanpur, Kanpur, that his friend Sanjeev Yadav was a sub-inspector. Posted in the ACP office of Kalyanpur district. Chandrabhan believed his son-in-law’s words. Chandrabhan’s son-in-law Sagar told his father-in-law that Sanjeev wanted Rs 1.5 crore. He had to buy the land in the name of his wife, he had no money now and would return it in 15-20 days. Chandrabhan Singh trusted him and donated Rs 1.5 crore to Sanjeev in three installments of Rs 5 lakh each.

After that, when Chandrabhan asked for a refund, Sanjeev kept issuing fake cheques for months to fool him. Frustrated, Chandrabhan complained to the Kalyanpur police about the matter. Chandrabhan stated in his complaint that his son-in-law had given his inspector friend Sanjeev Yadav Rs 1.5 crore and now he was issuing fake cheques again and again but not giving the money. When the police summoned Sanjeev Yadav for questioning in the case, he did not come.

On Tuesday, when the Kalyanpur police suddenly saw Sanjeev Yadav’s car, they stopped him and questioned him. During the inspection, three inspector uniforms were found in Sanjeev’s car. When the police asked, they could not even tell the exact place of posting. The police came to know that this was a fake inspector. Thereafter, during the inspection, multiple fake police badges were found from him. Meanwhile, a card of Mansoori’s Rabasna IAS College was also found.

What did the ACP say about the entire incident?

ACP Kalyanpur Abhishek Pandey said the accused Sanjeev Yadav was a resident of Mohammadabad in Farrukhabad. He and his brother-in-law Harsh Yadav often involved in the scam by involving his friend Sagar. He himself also used to impersonate as a police inspector to trick people. He took Rs 15 lakh from Chandrabhan Singh. Sanjeev used police uniform and coins to cheat people. Police has initiated action against Sanjeev. His brother-in-law and friends were also searched for their involvement in the scam.
