After Mumbai’s Juhu Chowpatty, now Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh has a similar sight in Juhu Chowpatty. Today, Thursday, CM Yogi will inaugurate this floating restaurant. Sit in the floating restaurant in the middle of the sparkling lake and enjoy the view while sipping delicious food.

Over the past seven years, the Yogi government has revitalized the Ramgarhtal area of the Gorakhpur district planetarium, making the area known as the ‘Marine Avenue’ of Gorakhpur. Ramgarhtal has evolved into a favorite tourist spot in eastern Uttar Pradesh, already having facilities for cruise ships, and now also a floating restaurant can be enjoyed here. Let us tell you that a floating restaurant with modern facilities in North India is ready in the naturally beautiful Ramgarhtal. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate it on Thursday (September 19).

The Ramgarhtal area has emerged as an important tourist and food hub. Many branded hotel facilities have come up in the area. Now, tourists will also get a floating restaurant facility called “Float” which is a restaurant floating on the water in Ramgarhtal. The floating restaurant will be a great gift for tourists after the Queen Lake cruise.

The Yogi government has shown such seriousness towards Ramgarhtal that for decades, it was neglected and became synonymous with dirtiness, and now it has been ranked among the top tourist destinations with beautiful scenery in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ramgarhtal is booming with the arrival of tourism and employment, presenting a new picture of development.

Today, the lake is popular with tourists and also provides employment opportunities to a large number of young people. Ramgarhtal, which was a victim of neglect till seven years ago, is now considered as the most popular tourist destination in eastern Uttar Pradesh. This 1700-acre natural pond was once the filth of the entire city, but due to the vision of CM Yogi and the development work carried out in accordance with that vision, it has been improved so much that people come from far and wide to have a glimpse of its beauty.

Tourists will enjoy boat rides on the ‘Queen Lake’ pioneered by CM Yogi on Gorakhpur’s Ramgarhtal Lake from December 15, 2023, and now the floating restaurant on the lake will also serve delicious food. The construction of the floating restaurant started on August 17, 2022 and it is now ready. The interiors have been made very attractive. The floating restaurant has a total area of 9,600 square feet and has three floors, which can accommodate 100 to 150 tourists at a time.

Alok Aggarwal, general manager of the company that runs the floating restaurant, said there is also an elevator facility from the ground floor to the first and second floors. The food court on the ground floor offers a variety of vegan delicacies, and music parties can be held on the first floor. The second floor is an open rooftop where you can sit in the open air and enjoy the lake view while enjoying your food. The entire floating restaurant is designed so that people sitting in it can fully see the beauty of Ramgarhtal. Its construction cost more than 100 million rupees and was built in accordance with the standards of the Indian Shipping Registry.

The Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA) will earn Rs 4.5 lakh per month from the floating restaurant. The GDA has currently signed a 15-year agreement with the operating company. It can be extended for five years if the work is satisfactory. Anand Vardhan, vice president of GDA, said the official inauguration ceremony of the floating restaurant will be held at Ramgarhtal jetty.

On the occasion, allotment certificates will also be handed over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to allottees of GDA’s important housing scheme ‘Greenwood Apartment’. In this Rs 374.49 crore residential project, 300 three BHK HIG apartments and 179 four BHK HIG apartments will be constructed. The aim is to complete the construction of the apartments by July 2027.
