However, police said that only 21 houses were burnt down in the fire. Ten people including the main accused have been arrested in the case. Now politics has also started in this matter. The opposition claims that there is jungle rule in Bihar, while the ruling party claims that it is a conspiracy to destroy social harmony.
Congress state president Mallikarjun Kharge said the terrorist act by the bullies in Nawada Mahalithola town was yet another proof of the jungle rule of the NDA twin-engine government. “The fact that around 100 Dalit houses were set on fire, that fire broke out in the dark night and everything was snatched away from poor families is highly condemnable. It is a blatant indifference and criminal negligence of the BJP and its allies towards the Dalits and underprivileged sections of the community,” he said. “And the agitation of anti-social elements is at its peak now.”

What did the JDU say about the Nawada incident?
JDU MLC Neeraj Kumar said that on the face of it, the incident seemed to be a land dispute. The police and administration reached the spot just 20 minutes after the incident. The police are investigating all aspects. There is no information yet on whether anyone was injured in the incident. He said the government will not allow any attempt to disturb social harmony to succeed.

After a fight and exchange of fire, their house was set on fire.

SP Abhinav Dhiman said, “Around 7 pm on Wednesday, information was received that some people had burnt houses. Initially, it was said that 40 to 50 houses were burnt, but as far as we know, only 21 houses were burnt.” So far, no one has died in the incident and no such body has been found in the entire village.
