Users will get built-in protection in Instagram Teen account. With its help, users will be able to connect with a limited number of people and their profile will also be visible to a limited number of people. Sleep mode will also be available.

Parental permission to change settings

The company said that teen accounts will be automatically transferred to teen accounts. In addition to this, minors under 16 will have to get parental permission to change settings. This will also make it easier for parents to monitor.

New users will automatically be transferred to the Teen account

Meta said that teens will start creating the account. In this case, new teens coming to the platform will be able to use the automatic teen account. Teens already using Instagram will receive a reminder that their account is being transferred to a teen account.

The rollout of Instagram teen accounts will be done in phases. The services will first be available for the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. It will start in these countries from now and will reach everyone in the next 60 days. After that, Instagram teen accounts will start rolling out globally next year.

The private account will be opened automatically

Instagram automatically makes teen accounts private by default. This means that users must accept new followers. Those who don’t follow the account will not be able to see its content.

In Instagram Teen Accounts, users will receive alerts if they use the platform for more than 60 minutes a day. A sleep mode will also be available, which will start at 10 pm and remain active until 7 am. During this period, notifications will be muted.
