OnePlus 13 may come with vegan leather finish; key features revealed

OnePlus 13 has been confirmed to launch in China in October. The successor to the OnePlus 12 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which is also expected to be released next month. Before any new details are revealed, a tipster has leaked design renders of the upcoming OnePlus phone and hinted that the phone could feature a faux leather finish. The tipster also hinted at some key specifications of the expected smartphone. Notably, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered OnePlus 12 comes with a glass back panel.

OnePlus 13 design (expected)

Tipster Sanju Choudhary (@saaaanjjjuuu) shared the design renders of the OnePlus 13 in a post on X. The tipster pointed out that the image shared is an approximation of the expected appearance of the phone, rather than an official render.

The phone comes in a green color scheme, and the tipster claims it will likely feature a vegan leather finish. If true, it will be different from the OnePlus 12, which has a glass back. Since this isn’t an official rendering, details like the sensor or logo placement aren’t in place.

A large circular rear camera module can be seen on the OnePlus 13 renders, which is placed on the left side of the upper half of the panel. Unlike the OnePlus 12, the camera module does not touch the edge of the phone. The volume rocker and the power button, as well as the rough outline of the alert slider, appear on the right and left edges respectively.

It is worth noting that OnePlus China President Chris Lee said in a recent Weibo post that the OnePlus 13 design leak is not accurate. Chris Lee cited another post that showed a similar design rendering to the above, and said that the version of the phone he has is different from the rumored version.

The OnePlus 13 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. The tipster also said that the phone may be equipped with a 6.82-inch 2K 10-bit LTPO BOE X2 micro quad-curved OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

In terms of optics, the OnePlus 13 is expected to come with a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony LYT 808 1/1.4-inch primary sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony LYT 600 1/1.95-inch periscope shooter, and a 50-megapixel sensor paired with an ultra-wide-angle lens.

The OnePlus 13 is rumored to have a 6,000mAh or 6,100mAh battery. The phone may support 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. It is expected to support NFC connectivity. The phone may also come with an IP68/69 rated dust and water resistant casing, as well as an IR blaster and dual stereo speaker units.
