The Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir has expelled a district unit president and some other leaders from the party for violating the spirit of alliance with the National Congress (NC) and contesting the assembly elections as independent candidates.

A spokesperson for the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) said: “Actions that undermine the unity of the alliance will not be tolerated.”
He said the party had expelled Srinagar district president Imtiaz Ahmed Khan and two others from the party’s basic membership. (Agency)
