A series of pager explosions in Lebanon on Tuesday have so far killed eight people and reportedly injured more than 2,750 people. Security sources told Reuters that the explosions occurred on pagers belonging to Hezbollah fighters. These pagers were used by Hezbollah fighters to communicate with each other, but someone hacked into them and detonated them. Iranian Ambassador Mojtba Amani was also injured in the horrific incident. Many Hezbollah fighters were also among the dead.

According to media reports, the pager that injured the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon belonged to one of his bodyguards in the explosions, which took place in Dahiya, Bekaa, Nabatiya, Bint Jubail in southern Beirut and southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, horrific images of explosions have emerged. It can be seen that people’s pagers suddenly exploded during their daily work, causing injuries. The exposed explosion videos also include a CCTV video in which a small handheld device was placed next to a grocery store cashier. At this time, a person was paying and suddenly exploded. In other videos, a man standing in front of a fruit stall in the market area lost consciousness after the explosion.

Command not to use pager

The Lebanese Crisis Operations Center has asked all medical personnel to go to their respective hospitals to help deal with the large number of injured people coming for emergency treatment. At the same time, it has also ordered health workers not to use pagers. At the same time, the Lebanese Ministry of Health has also asked all citizens who have pagers to throw them away immediately.

The explosion occurred at 3:45 p.m.

Hezbollah said the blast was an Israeli plot. However, the Israeli military declined to comment on Reuters’ questions about the blasts. The explosions occurred at 3:45 pm local time (1345 GMT). It was not clear how the devices exploded.

Three security sources said the pager that exploded was the latest model launched by Hezbollah in recent months. After the explosion, panic swept the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut. Ambulances began to appear on the road and security personnel blocked the area.

At Mount Lebanon Hospital, motorbikes were seen rushing to the emergency room where blood-covered people screamed in pain. Hassan Wazni, director of the Nabatiyeh government hospital in the south of the country, told Reuters that about 40 injured were being treated at his hospital. Most had injuries to their faces, eyes and other body parts.
