Samsung’s One UI 7 update may soon be rolled out to beta testers in the coming weeks, according to reports. The One UI 6 update is based on Android 14, and the upcoming version will be based on Android 15, which is yet to be rolled out on Google’s Pixel phones. While Samsung has not yet provided any details about the next major update to its smartphone operating interface, we can expect to see a demo at the company’s upcoming developer conference next month.

Samsung subsidiary begins One UI 7 Beta testing

Citing unnamed sources, SamMobile reports that Samsung’s local subsidiary is currently testing the One UI 7 beta update, and the company will likely roll it out to testers as part of the company’s beta program. This year, Samsung is expected to roll out new user interface improvements while doubling down on its AI strategy to bring new AI features to eligible phones.

According to the report, the South Korean tech group has been testing the One UI 7 beta update for “several weeks” in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the U.S. The company reportedly tests its software updates in these regions, while the upcoming release will allegedly be trialed in more regions this year.

Samsung One UI 7 release schedule (estimated)

Samsung has not announced any details about the upcoming One UI 7 update, but the company has scheduled its annual Samsung Developer Conference 2024 (SDC24) in San Jose, California on October 3. This is usually when the company releases the next version of its Android smartphone interface, and we can speculate that One UI 7 will be launched in late October.

This year, several smartphones and tablets are expected to be updated to One UI 7, and the company’s update schedule may depend on the series and the original release date of each model. For example, the latest Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series phones usually receive the update first, followed by older models. Eligible Galaxy A, Galaxy M, Galaxy F, and Galaxy C series models may receive the update after the flagship models.
