Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s film Veer Zara is hitting the theatres again. The film, which first hit theatres 20 years ago, continues to attract cinemagoers.

For a few months now, given the long gap between new releases in Bollywood, many films have been re-released and have performed better than many new releases. Now, Shah Rukh and Preity Zinta’s Veer Zara has not only won the public’s love again in theaters, but has also earned good money.

Strong revenue from select screens
Veer Zaara has reportedly been re-released for around 300 shows and has started wooing the audience under the magic of Shahrukh’s brand of romance from day one. Veer Zara, one of King Khan’s most iconic romantic films, collected around Rs 25 lakh on its first day at the box office on Friday, reports Sacknilk.

On Saturday, its collection increased to around Rs 40 lakh and on Sunday, its total collection reached Rs 45 lakh. Considering the demand for the film, 100 more screenings were added and the film is now showing on around 400 screens. In the first weekend of its re-release, the film has collected over Rs 110 crore, or over Rs 90 lakh.

A record will be set in 20 years
Veer Zaara initially grossed over Rs 95 crore at the global box office. Recently, the film was re-released on very few screens and including the current collections, the film has grossed over Rs 97 crore at the global box office.

Veer Zara was one of Shah Rukh’s biggest hits of the time and now with its re-release it is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark. Looking at the collections of recent re-released films, there is a good chance that it will continue to earn a place. So, 20 years after its release, there is a good chance that Veer Zara will cross the Rs 100 crore milestone.

This number used to be very high when the movie was first released in 2004. Last year, Shah Rukh Bey made two movies back to back, which grossed Rs 1000 crore at the box office. Now, his box office of 20 years of movies has reached Rs 100 crore, which shows how high his status is.
