The decision was made under the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement. The agreement comes into force at the end of 2022. Under it, up to 80% of Australian export tariffs are eliminated. In addition, mutual assistance is promoted in other areas. A new visa program is now part of the agreement. Its purpose is to strengthen relations and cultural exchanges between the two countries. This means that young people can go there to observe local traditions and culture up close. They will also be able to learn about the international market. While traveling, they can also work temporarily to meet their daily expenses.

According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs, India has been included in the 462 subclass (work and holiday) visa program. In addition to India, China and Vietnam have also been newly included in the list. In addition, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia are also included.

According to this amendment to the Immigration Act, Indian passport holders between the age of 18 to 30 years will be eligible to go to Australia for wandering work. But for this they have to meet some conditions. Like they should know working English. Or should have arrangements for living expenses after reaching that country. Also, good health and no criminal record. The most important thing about this change is that applicants from India will not have to provide proof of support from their government. This condition still remains for applicants from most countries.

According to the Australian Department of Home Affairs, a lottery system will be set up for Indian citizens. Candidates must apply and register, after which 1,000 people will be selected through a draw each year who will have the opportunity to travel to Australia.

The age limit in India is between 18 and 30, while in France, Canada and Ireland the limit has been raised to 35. If Indian candidates are not selected before they turn 31, their names will be automatically removed from the list.

In addition to Australia, many other countries also offer working holiday visas, such as New Zealand, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, France and South Korea. Each country has a different working holiday visa policy, which is based on bilateral agreements between the two countries. But currently almost all countries that issue this type of special visa only offer this opportunity to neighboring countries or Western countries.

Today, all Western countries, including the United States, are raising the issue of immigration. They say their own identity is disappearing due to the increase in the immigrant population. Locals are also angry about resource allocation, and Australia is formulating a relaxed visa policy at this time. There are about 7.5 million immigrants in the country, of which about 800,000 are Indians. They are all skilled laborers and workers who continue to support Australia’s economy. But there is also illegal infiltration here. According to the Department of Home Affairs, there are more than a hundred thousand people living there illegally. In 2018, their number was about 60,000. This means that even Australia is not immune.
