Today is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and he is turning 74. He was born on September 17, 1950. On the occasion of his birthday, the Prime Minister will launch a scheme of the Odisha government, Subhadra Yojna. This is especially for women, under which the government will deposit Rs 5000-5000 in the accounts of women beneficiaries twice a year. This means Rs 10,000 will be transferred into their accounts in a year. Let us know how this scheme will work?

Women aged 21-60 will receive benefits
Subhadra Yojna is a scheme of the Odisha Govt under which Rs 10,000 per year will be deposited in the accounts of eligible women beneficiaries in the age group of 21 to 60 years in the state. This means that over a period of five years, women beneficiaries will be able to avail a total of Rs 50,000 financial assistance under the scheme. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will launch the scheme today on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What is special about the scheme is that it is named after Goddess Subhadra, the sister of Lord Jagannath, the main deity of Odisha.

The amount will be transferred in two installments
With this launch, financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided to more than 10,000 women in the state every year for 5 years till 2028-29 under the Subhadra Yojana. The remittance will be made in two instalments. One part will be deposited in the accounts of women beneficiaries on International Women’s Day i.e. March 8 and the other on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Under the scheme, the amount will be deposited in bank accounts linked to Aadhaar and E-KYC will be required to avail the benefits of the scheme.

How will this plan be implemented?
It is understood that the benefits of the scheme will be provided to female beneficiaries aged 21-60 years, for whom the government will issue Subhadra debit cards. Another benefit of this is that an additional reward of Rs 500 will be provided to a total of 100 beneficiaries who make the most digital transactions in each Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body area. It is reported that the government has determined a budget of Rs 55,825 crore for the five years from 2024-25 to 2028-29.

Where to register and who can’t get the offer?
The most important thing here is to know which women will not benefit from this scheme, then let us tell you that women from economically well-off families, government employees and women filing income tax returns have been left out of this scheme of the Odisha government. Go, that is, they will not be eligible for this scheme.

Apart from this, if a woman is receiving benefits of Rs 1,500 or more per month (or Rs 18,000 or more per year) under any other government scheme, then she will also be excluded. Apart from this, women are also eligible for the scheme.

This is the eligibility under the scheme

  • The female beneficiary should be a native of Odisha.
  • The woman should be included in the ration card under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) or the National Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
  • Even without this, they will get benefits but their total family income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
  • To be eligible for the program, applicants should be between 21-60 years of age on the date of eligibility.

You can apply online or offline
Women who are eligible for Subhadra Yojana can apply online or offline to avail its benefits. For online applications, they have to use Subhadra Portal, while for offline applications, they can go to local banks, post offices and common service centers to register for the scheme. The government will conduct a survey on the applications of women who have applied. In this case, only the information provided in Aadhaar will be considered final.
