Pitrupacha 2024: Pitru Paksha begins on September 17 (today) and will end on October 2 with Sarvapitri Amavasya. Depending on the religion, donations are considered to have special importance during Pitru Paksha or Shraddha Paksha as it can bring blessings from the ancestors. It is said that during these 15 days of Pitru Paksha, donations must be made in the name of the ancestors so that great merit can be gained. However, apart from this, there are some things that should not be donated during Pitru Paksha. So let us understand these things.

1. Ironware

Never donate iron utensils during Pitru Paksha. Apart from this, you can donate brass, gold and silver utensils if you wish.

2. Leather products

The use of leather products is prohibited during Pitru Paksha. It is considered very unlucky to use leather during Pitru Paksha.

3. Used clothes

Apart from this, it is considered bad to donate old clothes during Pitru Paksha. Only new clothes should be donated to Brahmins during Pitru Paksha.

4. Black clothes

The use of black in Hindu worship and all rituals is prohibited and inauspicious. Therefore, avoid donating black clothes or blankets during festivals.

5. Oil

Oil should not be donated during Pitru Paksha. Mustard oil should not be donated, especially during Shraddha Paksha.

6. Leftovers

Only pure and fresh food should be offered to the ancestors during Shraddha Paksha. No fake or leftover food should be offered to the ancestors even if it is wrong.
