After Bihar, a case of tampering with the tricolour during the Eid parade in Kota, Rajasthan, also occurred. Police said that on Monday, three boys were detained for allegedly tampering with the national flag. The boys made a “crescent and black star” and waved the tricolour in front of the Milad-un-Nabi procession. A video of the incident also appeared on social media.

Bhupendra Singh, Circle Inspector of Anantpura police station, said after watching the video, the police recovered the tampered flag and detained the boy. During investigation, the police came to know that the boy was preparing the flag to be displayed during the Milad-un-Nabi procession. He secretly painted a crescent and black stars on both sides of the flag.

Hindu groups protest against insult to national flag

Meanwhile, local Hindu organizations protested against the desecration of the national flag and submitted a memorandum to the CI of Ananthapura police station, demanding arrest and severe punishment in the case. The leaders of the Hindu organizations claimed that it was a well-planned conspiracy to hand over the tampered flag to a minor.

Yogendra Renwal, Kota state coordinator of Bajrang Dal, said a case should be registered against those who participated in the procession.A similar incident took place in Bihar’s Saran district, where police detained two men for carrying an Indian flag with a ‘crescent and star’ instead of an Ashok Chakra during a procession on Monday.
