Kejriwal will also be worried that the next CM may become a ‘Champai’.

The chair game is very unique. And who better to illustrate this than Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi. While fighting corruption, he was so fond of his chair, it is hard to find in history how much love he showed for his chair without worrying about the people of Delhi. He resigned from the post of Chief Minister after being in jail, showing a new path for Indian politicians. Arvind Kejriwal might have been honest and his role in the Delhi liquor scam might have been negligible, but he certainly sparked a trend which would be exploited by extremely corrupt people. It was also seen earlier that the benefit of the relaxation of laws was so that the common people would not face any problems, but it was always misused by powerful people for their personal gains. Well, Arvind Kejriwal has now decided to resign from his post. He might submit his resignation tomorrow i.e. September 17. But his life is surely in danger, will the person to whom he handed over the post of Chief Minister of Delhi return it to him?

In fact, the history of the country’s politics is that whenever a popular chief minister hands over power to their protégé-type leader, he has to work hard to take it back. Perhaps this is why leaders prefer the Rabri model in this regard. Before going to jail for the fodder scam, the then Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav appointed his wife Rabri Devi as the chief minister. But the difficulty is that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is facing the BJP. Political analyst Saurabh Dubey said that if Arvind Kejriwal proposes to make his wife Sunita Kejriwal succeed him as the chief minister, then all the work he has done so far will be ruined. In fact, the BJP has continuously targeted the Indian Union leaders on the issue of dynasty politics. Arvind Kejriwal has also been saying that his party is the party of the common people and that he should make his wife Sunita Kejriwal the chief minister, which is not in line with his image.

Currently, there are also such examples in the country where even Pati refuses to leave the chair. During the election campaign before the formation of the Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, the current Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh was forced to withdraw from the election due to his indecent remarks against the former Chief Minister Mayawati. In this case, Swati Singh made herself shine in the politics of Uttar Pradesh by defending her husband against Mayawati. The party gave him the MLA ticket to replace Dayashankar Singh. After winning, he was given the ministerial post. In 2022, Swati Singh refused to give up her seat for her husband. Later, Swati Singh’s ticket was cut and given to Dayashankar Singh. However, now the couple does not live together. But this is an example that shows that even the wife is not trustworthy in political stances.

Anyway, even today, the wife is the safest person to hand over the position. From her point of view, when the time comes, she can hand over her position to her husband and let him succeed. If Arvind Kejriwal lets someone else be the CM, it cannot be ruled out that he becomes Champai Soren or Jitan Ram Manjhi.

After the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Nitish Kumar resigned as chief minister, taking moral responsibility. Nitish appointed the then JDU leader Jitan Ram Manjhi as chief minister. Jitan Ram Manjhi was a Dalit leader and Nitish felt that by making him the chief minister, he could eat laddus with both hands. His idea was that on one hand, by empowering Dalits, the community would increase its penetration and on the other hand, they could remove them at any time. Jitan Ram Manjhi refused to leave the chairmanship but Nitish Kumar succeeded in removing him, but later Jitan Ram Manjhi became his staunchest critic and formed his own party. Similarly, Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren appointed his close minister Champai Soren as chief minister before he went to jail. But when he was removed, not even Champai was unhappy. Now he is with the BJP.

Today, the name most talked about to become the Chief Minister of Delhi is Atishi. Just as Manjhi linked the chair politics with Dalit politics, Atishi can also link the CM chair with women’s self-esteem. Even if Atish says no when Kejriwal wants to remove her, the opposition will force her to say so. For now, Arvind Kejriwal has ruled out his top rivals from this election. Kejriwal himself said that Manish Sisodia is not contesting this election. Now, they have less trust in Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha. Kailash Gehlot has been questioned in the ED case and Kejriwal can approve the names of Gopal Rai and Saurabh Bhardwaj. But if their chairs are taken back, how can it be guaranteed that they will not become Champai or Manjhi?
