In a bid to strengthen the party’s organisational unit, the BJP has nominated Fakir Chand as the party’s vice-president and Chaudhary Bakalar Singh as the vice-president of the farmers’ organisation.
Sh. Sat Sharma said that the BJP is the true representative of the interests of farmers and it has been working for the welfare of small as well as large farmers. He said that the BJP’s Sankalp Patra has a special focus on farmers and has promised to increase the subsidy of Rs 6,000 provided under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana to Rs 10,000, besides various welfare schemes.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken many revolutionary steps to increase farmers’ income in the last decade and these steps have been further accelerated after coming to power for the third time. He said that after forming a dual-engine government in Jammu and Kashmir, farmers’ lives will become better off as the BJP is committed to fulfilling every promise of its Sankalp Patra.
He hoped that Mr. Fakir Chand Bhagat would work for the BJP with greater enthusiasm and promote the policies and programmes of the BJP to thousands of households.
He expressed hope on Chaudhry Balkar Singh that he would make the farmer community aware about the welfare measures taken by Prime Minister Modi for farmers and the promises made by the BJP in the Peace Accord.
