The stage of ‘Panchayat Aaj Tak’ has been set today before the upcoming assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The first person to participate in this biggest political panchayat was the Lieutenant Governor of the state Manoj Sinha.
Manoj Sinha, referring to the first election of 1957, said that there were 75 seats then. 20 MLAs were elected unopposed. The people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially the people of the valley, also expressed faith in the democracy of India. He said that coming out of the conspiracy, the people here have also understood that our future lies in the democracy of India.
On the question of increasing the powers of the Lieutenant Governor, he said that it is not appropriate to raise questions on it. Wherever there are Union Territories or Union Territories, the Lieutenant Governor has such powers. Whichever government comes, it will have my full support. Manoj Sinha said that the assembly elections will also be completely free and fair. Even at 11 o’clock tonight, people are going out to eat, campaigning is going on till 12 midnight. He said that this change that has happened needs to be seen.
Manoj Sinha said that after the implementation of three-tier panchayat, we had transferred the funds. It is the work of political parties, they keep saying something or the other. The public will decide this. On the promises of restoring Article 370, he said that those who have held constitutional posts or have taken oath should understand that it is no longer a part of the Constitution of India. Manoj Sinha said that I would advise to avoid such things.
On the question of calling Rahul Gandhi a king, he said that take the opinion of the public, the doors of their mind will open. Do a secret ballot. If more than 75 percent of the people do not say that work has been done for the welfare of the public in the last five years, then I will leave from here. He also said that those who are raising questions on the courts, it is not right. When a stone falls in the mud, the splashes fall on the person himself. People should avoid such things.
