People from many countries come to Delhi to visit and go back with pleasant memories. However, this tour was not very special for a female tourist from Singapore. She had come here with her friend and made an advisory video about what happened to her here.

Singapore’s travel vlogger @travelswithsyl shared a video of his bad experience in Delhi on Instagram. The vlogger told three tricks to foreign tourists to avoid getting cheated in Delhi.

Firstly, he said, ‘If you come to Delhi, never take a taxi at midnight. We arrived at night and took a taxi because we couldn’t find an Uber from the airport. The driver asked for Rs 200 extra at the end of the trip even though it was a pre-paid taxi. Then he dropped us at the wrong location. Secondly, ‘Never give your contact number to a rickshaw driver. In the video, he showed that he was constantly sending voice messages to them.’

He said, ‘When we went to Jama Masjid, we met a rickshaw driver and gave him our number, we spent a lot of time with him, we thought we have to pay him around 1000 rupees, which is double the price of Uber ride. But he asked us for 6000 rupees.’

Sharing the third tip, the vlogger said, ‘Don’t carry only credit cards instead of cash. Cash is more common in India than credit cards. When it comes to street vendors, cash is always preferred.’ The video has been shared on Instagram account @travelswithsyl.

The clip was shared a few days ago. Since being shared, the video has been viewed 2 million times and the number is still increasing. Many social media users expressed concern in the comments section. One person wrote- ‘I live in Delhi. Always take a cab to go anywhere. Nothing else is safe. One person wrote- Rickshaw pullers always try to cheat tourists – this should be curbed.
