American defense company Lockheed Martin and Tata Advanced Systems Limited on Tuesday signed an agreement to manufacture the C-130J Super Hercules tactical aircraft in India. This decision has been taken just a few days after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to the US. That is, this is a big deal between the two countries.
Under this agreement, facilities like maintenance, repair, overhaul of these aircraft will be available in India itself. This will also be beneficial for the existing 12 C-130J fleet of the Indian Air Force. The Medium Transport Aircraft Project will be taken forward with this agreement.
